The Network on Catalytic Membrane Reactors was approved in July 1994 and it was completed in 1997.
The Chairman was Professor Enrico Drioli from the University of Calabria.

Main topics studied by the Network on Catalytic Membrane Reactors are: development of membrane reactors for enhanced conversion and selectivity in dehydrogenation and oxidative reactions; zeolite-ceramic composite membranes preparation and characterization; palladium-ceramic composite membranes synthesis and characterization; development of mixed conducting ceramic materials for oxidation processes; studies on nitrobenzene liquid phase hydrogenation in membrane reactors; studies on the use of three phase catalytic membrane reactors.
