In August 1975 the Executive Council convened an exploratory meeting of a working group to advise on the desirability of the European Science Foundation's undertaking some activities in relation to the social sciences.

The sub fonds contains the documents relating to the activities of the ESF in Social Sciences such as meetings of the different Committees and working groups, the organisation of workshops and seminars, and the relation with external organisms.
