Context
The Network on Metal Clusters was launched in January 1992 and was completed in 1995.
The Chairman was Dr. Pierre Braunstein from Strasbourg.
Content and Structure
The Network on Metal Clusters concerns metal atom interactions in clusters and clusters ensembles involving mainly d and f elements. Areas of interests include: catalysis; design and properties of clusters and assembled materials; electronic and optical properties of clusters.
The dossier contains background material on the Network: proposal for a Network on Metal Clusters; exploratory workshop on Polymetallic systems, held in Strasbourg, on 16-17 July 1991; proposal for a Network on Polymetallic systems.
Minutes of meetings: meeting of the Coordination Committee, Strasbourg, 13 Jan 1992; proposal for a European Research Conference, 1992; meeting of the Steering Committee, Lagonissi, 31 Aug 1993; meeting of the Steering Committee, Salou, 7 May 1994; meeting of the Steering Committee, Parma, 27 April 1995.
Reports on workshops and conferences: Riccione workshop on "Preparation and characterization of metal clusters", 14-18 Oct 1992 (list of participants, report, programme); Research Conference on "Metal clusters in chemistry", Lagonissi, 28 Aug-2 Sep 1993 (programme, list of participants); Tarragona workshop on "Clusters reactions and catalysis", 3-7 May 1994 (programme, report, list of participants); report of the Murnau workshop on "Electronic properties of metal clusters", 14-16 Sep 1994; Parma workshop on "Bimetallic effects in chemistry", 26-29 April 1995 (report, list of participants, article, programme, press cut, abstracts of the papers).
The dossier also contains correspondence on publishing a book on Metal Clusters.
It contains correspondence, project reports and cv of grant holders: Chantal Badoux Charles, Isolde Bachert, Claudia Graiff, Maria Contel, Massimiliano Bienati, Fabio Prestopino, Florent Ingold, Davide Boyter Brown, Daniele Cauzzi.
Application for an ESF scientific programme on Metal Cluster related to the ESF scientific Network: proposal "Fundamental properties of metal clusters and nanomaterials".
Evaluation: review of completed Network on Metal Clusters; activity and evaluation report on Network on Metal Clusters.
