The Network on Hominoid Evolution and Environmental Change in the Neogene of Europe was approved by the ESF Executive Council in May 1995 for a three-year period and it was completed in December 1998.
The Chairman was Dr. Jorge Agustí from Spain.

Content and Structure

Abstract

The Network focuses on the environmental changes that forced the evolution of the European hominids during the late Neogene period between 14 million and five million years ago.

The dossier contains correspondence concerning the establishment and the management of the Network: proposal (first and final versions) for an ESF Network on "Hominoid evolution and environmental change in the Neogene of Europe"; proposal for an ESF scientific programme on "Climate and fauna: a database of the Quaternary mammals of Europe", May 1993; European Quaternary Mammals Databank (EUQUAM) progress report 1994.
