The HOLIVAR programme (2001-2006) has two general objectives: to understand climate variability within Europa and Africa focusing on inter-annual, decadal and centennial variability over the last 6.000 years; to compare proxy records of past climate change with the output of climate models in order to improve model predictability for the future.
