Abstract
GEODE is a 5 year programme that began in April 1998 and is supported by research councils and academies of Science in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and United-Kingdom.
It aims at building a quantitative understanding of the geological processes that result in world class ore deposits. The research focuses on 5 mineral provinces: the massive sulphides of Iberia, Pancardi, the Baltic Shield, the Urals and Palaozoic sedimentary basins and contributes to the search for new deposits and optimises the sustainable production of known deposits.
