Following the positive result at the ESF Executive Council meeting in November 1995, the European Lake Drilling Programme (ELDP) is adopted as an ESF Scientific Programme.
This programme provides high resolution sedimentary data from lakes, facilitating annual and seasonal understanding of the controlling processes and feedback mechanisms of middle latitude paleoclimate.
