Item 1: Draft agenda of the eighth meeting of the Administrative Board. French only. Item 2: Draft minutes of the seventh meeting of the Board, 2 October 1978. Note in pencil reads 'original sent to J. Degimbe for signature'. Minutes include discussion of 'Approval of the 1979 Work Programme (p.7), Election of Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons for 1978-79 (p.10) and an annex of persons present at the seventh meeting. 14pp. Item 3: Fifth progress report of the Director on the activities of the European Foundation covering the period October 1978-March 1979. Headings include Further Implementation of the 1978 Work Programme (p.1) and Implementation of the 1979 work programme (p.5). 6pp. Item 4: AB/8/4a1-Synthesis by the Director of a seminar on New forms of work organisation, to be held at the Foundation on the 26 and 27 October 1978. AB/8/4a2-Series of reports from the three groups (Workers, Employers and Governments) outlining their view of the seminar on New Forms of Work Organisation. English only. AB/8/4b2-Reports from the three groups on the evaluation seminar on shift work. English only. AB/8/4c-Copy of a letter, 13 February 1979, from Karl Fitting, member of the Administrative Board to the Chairperson and Director. Letter, which was circulated to all Board members, expressed concern that the Board should deal with the results of the study reports and presents an exchange of opinions on the subject. Item 5: Note concerning the Foundation's policy on the dissemination of information which discusses the Foundation's policy on the dissemination of documentation (p.1) and the dissemination of information through the medium of courses, lectures and seminars (p.3). 4pp. Item 6: Third report on the activities of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions, 1978. In his annual report the Director deals with the activities, financial situation and future guidelines of the Foundation with headings including Staff Developments (p.4), Work Programmes planned for 1978 and 1979 (p.5) and Budgetary Developments: Appropriations and Results (p.16). Five annexes are presented in his report including List of members of the Administrative Board (p.18), Staff Table 1978 (p.21) and Organisational structure based on the 1979 staff table (p.23). 23pp. Item 7: Accounts for the financial year 1978 including a balance sheet at 31 December 1978. 28pp. Item 8: First guidelines for the 1980 Programme of Work. Guidelines, from Wiebe de Jong, Director (6 February 1979), for the new four-year rolling programme and the first annual programme for 1981 are presented under headings that include Dissemination of Information (p.3) and New Research areas (p.6). 7pp. Item 9: Draft budget for 1980. Six annexes are attached including an Authorised Staff Table 1979 (p.27), Statement giving the reasons for requesting new posts and the transformation of existing posts (p.28) and an Organisational Chart based on the 1979 staff table. 35pp. Item 10: Other: File of material, mainly correspondence relating to the organisation of the eighth Board meeting.
