Abstract

Explains the historical as well as economic reasons why six European countries decided to establish the European Coal and Steel Community, EURATOM and the European Economic Community. Rudolf Dumont du Voitel, director of the Information Service of the European Communites in 1963, described the message of the film in an interview: "Continent without frontiers means also a continent without language borders, without political borders, and without economic boundaries. It was meant to be a vision of the future".
