Content and Structure
A young journalist travels to Strasbourg to report on the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) for his newspaper. He explains how all six member states work together with the aim of creating a European Community, and describes extensively the tasks and functioning of the ECSC. The English version begins with a text "Six Nations resolved to substitute for historic rivalries a fusion of their essential interests, to establish the foundation of a broad and dependent community among peoples long divided by bloody conflicts: and to lay the basis of institutions capable giving directions tor their future common destiny, have decided to create a European Coal and Steel Community."
The two language versions differ slightly in the comment and the length of the sequences.
