Item 1: Draft agenda of the sixteenth meeting of the Committee of Experts. Item 2: Draft minutes of the fifteenth meeting of the Committee of Experts, 2-3 July 1984. Minutes detail the Chairperson's report on the 22nd and 23rd Administrative Board meetings (p.1), the discussion on the 1985-1988 four-year rolling programme (p.3) and the consideration of the draft programme of work for 1985 which was postponed until the next meeting (p.9). 10pp. Item 3: Report by Gilbert Cornu, Chairperson of the Committee of Experts, on the last meetings of the Administrative Board. No document. Item 4: Report, by Thorkild Herborg Nielsen, on the evaluation colloquium on 'The impact of retirement on the living conditions of retired workers', Dublin 25-26 October 1984. Report details the views expressed by each of the three groups (Trade Union, Employers and Government) and outlines the 'points of view from the Committee of Experts' position' which concludes that 'the Committee of Experts can recommend the technical resolutions of the research projects as an inspiration for future research projects in living conditions'. 3pp. Item 5: Investigation of the state of progress of the 1984 projects. No document. Item 6: Discussion of the 1985-1988 four-year rolling programme, presented by the Management of the Foundation: CE/16/6a-Draft four-year rolling programme of the European Foundation 1985-1988. Programme outlines the background to the four-year rolling programme (p.2) and the activities of the Programme (p.7). An 'Appendix to the four-year rolling programme' is included. 36pp. Draft programme was submitted to the Administrative Board as AB 24/4. CE/16/6b-Views of the Committee of Experts on the draft four-year programme as proposed by the Foundation. 'In the course of the discussions on the content of the programme, comments were made regarding various aspects of the general orientation of the Foundation's projects' and a number of points are made including 'It is time for the Foundation to publicise itself and its work in a more aggressive manner' (p.1) and 'The Foundation must select topics concerning not living and working conditions, but the improvement of living and working conditions' (p.2). A number of proposals are made including 'the thrust of the four-year programme could be 'how to live through change and use changes occurring within living and working conditions to improve these conditions' (p.2). 3pp.
