Abstract

Item 1: Draft agenda of the ninth meeting of the Committee of Experts. Item 2: Draft minutes of the eighth meeting of the Committee of Experts, 29-30 September 1980. Minutes detail the report of the Chairperson and Vice-Chairmen on the 11th and 12th meetings of the Administrative Board (p.1), the orientation of the 1981-1984 four-year rolling programme (p.3) and the election of Gilbert Cornu as Chairperson with the election of Thorkild Nielsen as Vice-Chairperson to 'ensure a smooth transition' (p.8). 10pp. Item 3: Report by the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson on the 13th meeting of the Administrative Board. No document. Item 4: Reports on the seminars and colloquia held between the 8th and 9th meetings of the Committee of Experts:
Report, by Eirlys Roberts, on the evaluation seminar on shiftwork in the Chemical Industry, Dublin, 22-24 October 1980. 7pp. Item 5: Information, on a country by country basis, on the mailing lists for the Foundation's publications. English only. Item 6: Note, from Georges Seguin, Research Manager, on how to improve evaluation seminars. Note states that three main reasons seem to hinder evaluation seminars from reaching their full efficiency include 'Some people, in particular when they are attending a seminar for the first time, do not appear to know exactly what they are here for' and 'We should bear in mind that people attending our seminars are very busy and therefore, have not much time to devote to reading extensive reports'. Note offers practical solutions for each of the problems listed. 4pp. Item 7: Discussion on the notes prepared by Eirlys Roberts, Thorkild Nielsen, Mr. Bianchi and Mr. Baboulene relative to a document dealing with the living conditions during the next four-year programme. No document. 1981-1984 programme is included for information. Programme was submitted to the Administrative Board as AB 13/4. Item 8: Letter from J. Baboulene to Bent Pedersen in which he outlines his comments on the draft work programme for 1981. Letter includes a preliminary comment (p.1), an individual focus on various components within the work programme and a list of members of the Committee to be consulted on each project. 6pp. Item 9: Draft work programme for 1981 (AB 13/5) as an aid to the planning of the consultation procedures under the work programme for 1981. Draft programme of work contains headings including 'Dissemination and Documentation' (p.2), 'The Improvement of Working Conditions' (p.4), 'The Improvement of Living Conditions' (p.14) and 'Organisation of Seminars and Colloquia (p.16). 16pp. Item 10: Information regarding the appointment of a Greek expert.
