Abstract

Item 1: Draft agenda of the fourteenth meeting of the Committee of Experts. Item 2: Draft minutes of the thirteenth meeting of the Committee of Experts, 19-20 May 1983. Minutes detail the discussion of the provisional proposals regarding the draft work programme for 1984 (p.2), the statement by the Director on the main themes of the next four-year rolling programme (p.2), the exchange of views and proposals regarding the main themes of the next four-year rolling programme (p.3) and the resignation of the Vice-Chairperson which was postponed until the next meeting because of 'the lack of a quorum' (p.6). 13pp. Item 3: Report, by Thorkild Herborg Nielsen, Vice Chairperson of the Committee, on the Administrative Board meeting of the 8 July 1983. Nielsen attended the meeting in place of the Chairperson and his report concentrates predominantly on 'the most important agenda item ... the draft work programme for 1984 which will be approved at the next Board meeting' (p.1). In the report, Nielsen offers his own opinions on the 1984 draft programme (p.4) and offers 'viewpoints of interest for the Committee's discussion on the work programme' (p.4). 6pp. Item 4: Report, by Thorkild Herborg Nielsen, on the evaluation seminar on Electronic machinery in the office, 23-24 June 1983. Report states that the 'seminar was chaired by Ray Wild ... The project was started in 1983 under the leadership of E. Kohler.' Report outlines the contribution each of the participants and groups made to the seminar. 5pp. Item 5: List of participants at seminars and colloquia for 1983 and 1984. 1p. Item 6: Draft proposals for the 1984 work programme. Proposed projects are divided into number and title, background and description. 12pp. (CE/14/6(1)). Included also is a report from Eirlys Roberts on how to introduce research into living conditions into the Foundation's future strategy. (CE/14/6(2)). Item 7: First proposals of the Committee on the main themes of the next four-year rolling programme and an exchange of views and preparation of advice to the Administrative Board. No document. Item 8: The functioning and renewal of the Committee of Experts. No document. Other: Invitation issued to the members of the Committee of Experts including a blank reply form. Included also is a letter from Wiebe de Jong to members of the Committee that contains a timetable for the 14th meeting of the Committee. Notes:
