Context
The Network was approved by the ESF Executive Council in September 1998 for a three-year period.
The Chairman was Professor Franco Peracchi, from University of Rome Tor Vergata.
Content and Structure
The Network focuses on the social protection model of Europe, analyzing the differences between European countries in the composition of population, the social protection institutions in the EU, the labour market conditions, the pension systems.
The dossier contains correspondence on the establishment and the management of the Network: report of the project "Labor force participation trends and social security reforms in Europe"; Network proposal (1998) and research assessments; programme of the conference on "Savings, pensions, and portfolio choice", held on 6-9 April 2000 in Deidesheim, Germany; programme of the conference on "Demographic changes and welfare reforms in western countries", held in Rome on 19-21 Sep 2002; final report, 2004.
