The Network on European Theatre Iconography was approved by the ESF Executive Council in May 1997 for a three-year period.
The Chairman was professor Cesare Molinari from University of Florence.

The Network on European Theatre Iconography focuses on: identification and interpretation of images; the diffusion of theatrical representations in the period 1550-1570; the transmission of images in a multidisciplinary context, considering other cultural fields related to theatre, such as festival, ritual and religious cult and ceremony.

The dossier contains minutes of the meetings of the Coordination Committee held in Strasbourg, on 11 Oct 1997; in Wassenaar, on 22 July 1999; in Poggio a Caiano, on 22 July 2000. It contains also correspondence on the establishments of the Network; proposal and research assessments.
