Abstract

Item 1: Draft agenda and revised draft agenda of the seventh meeting of the Bureau. Item 2: Draft minutes of the sixth meeting of the Bureau, 28 April 1978. Minutes record the discussion on the 1979 programme of work (p.2), the discussion on the problems concerning the proposal to revise the conditions of employment of Foundation staff (p.3) and the preparation of the Foundation's inaugural ceremony (p.4). 6pp. Item 3: Draft programme of work for 1979. Draft programme lists the activities planned for 1979 which have been divided into two sections-activities following on from the research work and new research projects. 10pp. Item 4: Conclusions of the working group 'tasked with formulating proposals for the urgent revision of the conditions of employment of the staff in Berlin and Dublin' reached at the meeting in Brussels, 9 June 1978. Conclusions reached by the Group include 'the inclusion of the Berlin and Dublin staff in the Regulations laying down the conditions of employment of other servants of the European Communities under the heading of temporary agents ... proposes that Title 1, Article 2 of the conditions of employment of other servants ... contain an additional sub-paragraph.' 1p. Item 5: Draft agenda for the seventh meeting of the Administrative Board, 2-3 October 1978. Item 6: Details of the Foundation's inauguration ceremony. No document. Item 7: Date of the next meeting of the Bureau. No document. Item 8: B/6/8a-Signed decision transferring funds within Chapter 3 of the Foundation's 1978 budget. Explanatory notes states that the term 'Pilot Scheme' as used by the Financial controller is such that it cannot be applied to any of the research projects included in the Foundation's programme of work for 1978. 'Therefore, the whole range of the Foundation's projects should be considered - in budgetary terms - as studies and consequently financed with the appropriations available under Item 3030.' 2pp. B/6/8b-Decision authorising the continuance of the temporary mortality and temporary invalidity insurance cover approved by the Administrative Board in its decision of 3 March 1978. 2pp. B/6/8c-Decision empowering the Director to continue provisionally the employment of the Foundation's gardener. 3pp. B/6/8d-Letter from Jean Degimbe, Chairperson of the Administrative Board in which he outlines the Board decision regarding the swimming pool. 'Although the Board did not make any official decision on what should be done with the pool, it did reject the proposal to convert it into a conference hall.' 1p. Item 9: Item 10: Other: Letter from Jean Degimbe, Chairperson of the Administrative Board, to members of the Administrative Board regarding the conclusions of the Working Group tasked with the 'urgent revision of the conditions of employment of the staff of the Centre and of the Foundation.'
