Context
The Network was approved by the ESF Network Group in May 2002 for a three-year period.
The Chairman was Professor Kari Palonen, from University of Jyväskylä, Finland.
Content and Structure
The Network studies the rise and growing acceptance of democracy during the 19th and 20th centuries in Europe, focusing on the differences between countries in the dating and rhythm of democratisation.
The dossier contains: Network proposal and research assessments; correspondence; final report.
