The Network was approved by the ESF Network Group in November 2001 for a two-year period.
The Chairman was Professor Joni Lovenduski from Birkbeck College, university of London.

The Network focuses on how gender issues interact with policy making in democratic societies in Europe. It analyses the impact of women's policy agencies; the state feminism and the women's movements; the government allies for gender equality.

The dossier contains correspondence on the establishment of the Network: first proposal, research assessments; revised proposal and research assessments.
It also contains the final report of activities.
