The Chairman was Professor Marco Beretta, University of Bologna.

Content and Structure

Abstract

Main topics of the Network are: scientific instruments and their preservation; preservation and enhancement of naturalistic collections; from scientific archive to the public, the importance of records of laboratory protocols as examples of vital archives; the application of new technologies in providing public access to exhibits and information relating to scientific heritage.

The dossier contains: Network proposal and research assessments; correspondence; report on the workshop on "Scientific instruments in science history (and beyond)", held on 27-28 June 2003, in Oxford; summary report, 2003; report on the meeting of the Scientific Committee and on the workshop "From private to public: natural collections and museum", held in Ravenna, on 18-20 June 2004; "@rchives de sciences: recherche et valorisation", scientific report on the international colloquium, held on 27-28 May 2005, in Paris; final report.
