Content and Structure

Abstract

Describes the international first-class European railway service Trans Europ Express (TEE). The network was founded in 1957 and jointly operated by the railways of West Germany (DB), France (SNCF), Switzerland (SBB-CFF-FFS), Italy (FS) and the Netherlands. The TEE connected over 100 European cities and its schedules allowed business travelers to make a return journey within a single day and have time for business activities on the train. The film shows how easy and comfortable the international travel within Europe had become.
