The Steering Board made numerous examinations of the notifications made to the Organisation of measures of trade policy taken by Member countries, as well as of the withdrawal of liberalisation measures of the transfer of products from private to State trading. Moreover, the activities of the Steering Board have directly encouraged the extension of the liberalisation beyond the frontiers of Europe. Substantial progress has been recorded particularly in regard to the dollar zone.
