One of the six Plenary Committees of the OEEC, the Trade Commitee was set up in 1948 and consisted of representatives of member and associated countries. The competence of the Committee has been defined as follows: "Trade between member countries among themselves and with non-member countries - co-ordination of studies and methods likely to develop member countries' invisible earnings from non-members."
