Administrative and Biographical History

The Committee is a supervising body composed of one representative of each member country of the CRE. The representative is designated by the National rectors’ conferences. The Committee is tasked with approving Board proposals and reviewing the management of the association.

The Bi-annual conferences are conferences organized by the CRE and the host universities. 150 representatives from CRE members take part in each of these conferences.

Content and Structure

Abstract

These files records the meetings of the Permanent Committee, which usually take place twice a year although extra ordinary meetings are also possible. They also contain the records of the CRE bi-annual conferences, which are conferences focused on exchanging institutional experiences from various European countries according to a selected theme. They are organized around work groups, plenary sessions and panel discussions. While the Permanent committee meeetings started in 1960, the first bi-annual conferences to be recorded are in 1975.

To avoid repetition in the files’ description, it is mentioned here that the minutes of the meetings of the Permanent Committee all include the meeting’s final agenda and list of participants.

System of Arrangement

The Permanent Committee meetings and the Bi-annual Conferences were archived together by the CRE for practical purposes, as they would take place in the same location and around the same time. It was decided to keep this arrangement, to showcase the original order of the documents.
