Nelly Miriam Ramírez Ballón, emigrated to Turin where she completed her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts. She made use of her Spanish paternal great-grandmother's art in order to narrate her experience of migration to Italy, including an engraving from the archaeological site of Machu Picchu.The production of the witness correspondes as following: 1 family genealogy; 1 individual photography-based project (66 digital photographs taken inside the Academy of Fine Arts of Turin; 60 digital photographs taken outside the Academy of Fine Arts).

While carrying out the family genealogy, the artist was asked to describe her connection to her Spanish great-grandmother although it is not included in the final product.
