Following an initiative by German Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl in October 1988, the European communities set up a special body composed by EC member states Governors and Central Banks assisted by three renowned experts. This Committee was presided by Jacques Delors and worked on the way to settle European Central Bank and the introduction of Euro.
