From 1984 to 1997, Padoa Schioppa acted as Deputy Director. He assumed also other charges as member of Working Party n. 3 of OECD's Economic Policy Committee, then in 1988-1989 Joint Secretary of Delors Committee of European Monetary Union, and from 1988 to 1991 Chairman of Banking Advisory Committee.
