Abstract
An exploratory Workshop in the field of Cognitive Science was held in October 1991 on Human and Machine Learning.
In 1994 a four years research programme "Learning in Humans and Machines" was launched to advance the knowledge about learning from an interdisciplinary perspective by bringing together, on a European scale, researchers from cognitive, computer and educational sciences.
