In June 1977 a small group of distinguished lawyers has been called to study the proposal by Professor A.G. Chloros (King's College, London) for the establishment of a Research Institute for European Legislation. This working party met several times and produced a final report and some recommendations on the proposal which has been submitted to the Executive Council in its meeting on 20/06/1978. The report has been favorably reviewed and an ad hoc Committee on European Cooperation in Comparative Law was set up to prepare a programme of research. The Assembly approved the establishment of and Addictional Activity in Comparative Law in November 1979 consisting in four research projects. Two of these chosen from topics in substantive law: Medical Responsibility and Public Control and Accountability of Financial Institutions. The third concerns The Legislative Process, and the fourth from topics on procedural law on Summary Adjudication by Civil Courts in Proceedings of a Provisional Nature.
