The Microgravity Working Group was created with the agreement signed on 25 April 1990 between ESA and USSR. It extended its activities in 1992, focusing on both life sciences and material - fluid sciences.

The sub-series contains documents concerning cooperation in the two main field of microgravity: space life sciences, material - fluid sciences, for the period 1984-2003.
The files include correspondence, minutes of the Working Groups meetings, reports of projects and technical papers. Relevant subjects are: cooperation with the Institute of Biomedical Problems (IBMP); Biokosmos experiments; BIOBOX missions; BIOSTAK and DOSIMTR life science experiments; installation of MOSLAB laboratory; Matroshka experiment; FOTON, BION and NIKA missions.
