The main objectives of the programme were the investigations and measurements of air density, pressure, temperature and composition of the upper athmosphere. Moreover, other precious acquaintances were about electron and ion density, auroral particles, auroral and airglow photometry, magnetic fields and primary cosmic ray measurements.
