Content and Structure
Educational film about Erasmus of Rotterdam (1466-1536). His life and times are revealed in contemporary paintings and engravings. His humanist ideas are regarded as an inspiration for the European cooperation. The film is part of the film series "Great Europeans" commissioned by the Council of Europe.
The film received two awards: Inter Film Award, Brussels 1962, and the Prix du Film du Conseil de l'Europe - International Film Festival, Cork 1962.
