European Eco-label and Eco-design
Documents from [1989] to [2013]Identity Statement
Meyer, Ruth Ingeborg
Content and Structure
The series contains the files pertaining to BEUC's position and expertise in the elaboration of criteria and requirements of the European ecological scheme and in its revision processes. The European Eco-label is a voluntary scheme, established in 1992; products and services awarded the Eco-label carry the flower logo. BEUC's position is elaborated in collaboration with its members, often also with the European Association for the Co-ordination of Consumer Representation in Standardisation (ANEC).
From 2002 onwards BEUC is coordinating the consumer input in the European Union Eco-labelling Board and Consultation Forum (EUEB) which had been established by the European Commission in 2000.
The series is structured in two sub-groups where the first is relating to the Eco-label criteria and management in general ('Framework'), whereas the files of the second group ('Product groups ('lots')') pertain to single products or product groups.
Conditions of Access and Use
Archival documents created by BEUC are, in principle, open for consultation 15 years after their creation. Documents created by the European Commission are open for consultation 30 years after their creation. For access requests to documents created by the European Commission, please refer to the European Commission's access procedure.
Documents created and published by the European Commission, notably in Euro-Lex, can be consulted online on the Euro-Lex site; to facilitate association of such documents in the file contents, their front page has been kept inside the respective file.
The same goes for the less numerous documents created by the European Parliament and the European Council. Published documents by European Institutions or other bodies with handwritten annotations by BEUC members are part of the BEUC archival sources and kept inside the file to its full extent.
Possible copyright restrictions have to be respected.
