The file contains a collections of documents relating to the activities of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) on general principles created by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) to set up food standards.
The session reports on CAC's meetings, the notes, brochures, comments and papers included in this file are mostly produced by Consumers International (CI), by other consumer organisations and by the CAC secretariat.
The file includes also BEUC's paper 'Codex Alimentarius' (BEUC/103/95) from 13/04/1994 and a note [s.a., s.d.] on the position taken by the European Communities during CAC's 14th session on general principles (April/1999).

Contains also the survey by CI 'Participation is not enough' (September 2004).
