Interview with Sir Richard Mawkins, Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs 1947-1952, regarding European Recovery Programme. Mawkins speaks of Marshall Plan and its proposal for economic co-operation and tells of Jean Monnet's and Paul Hoffman's push for a supernational organisation, but Mawkins felt that this was not what the US administration were planning but rather collaboration at a national level.
