Notes
The workshop aimed to deepen the cultural ties between Latin America and Italy, give the participants (especially those of Latin American descent and second-generation immigrant children) the tools required to strengthen their sense of belonging to both areas, and encourage reflection on the mutual dependence between societies and cultures within the context of global history. This last element is not only a given in contemporary society but has always existed in human society and is best represented by the migration of individuals. Furthermore, the methodologies adopted (readings, group research) reinforced the participants' linguistic and communication skills. The workshop was held between October 3 to December 19, 2015 but, due to issues of access, visual materials depicting the participants' understanding of national, European, and world history were only collected from the first workshop.
