Abstract

This item has been handed over to the Historical Archives by Redon Pilinci with the following annotation:

"I find it reasonable to send you this part of the notes from the Italian Command which made for the region in 1943, and the name of Prof. Luzaj is mentioned specifically. The report is a file with 200 pages, if you do not have it I can provide the whole report but only yesterday I became aware of its existence, and I focused only on those parts that talk about Prof. Luzaj, as you can see in the picture that you have attached to the email, even below a part of the diary, which matches 100% with the report which was written without the knowledge of the author Isuf Luzaj.

February 25, 1940
Today they came to see me in Peshkëpi at the house of Abdyl Kuçi: Nuredin Vlora and Skënder Muçua. After a 13-hour conversation, it was decided that I would return to the city and stay in my house in Cold Water for safety. Skënder Muço spoke on behalf of Qazim; Nuredin on behalf of Mit'hat Frashëri of Ali Këlcyra; Abdyl Kuçi said that he had talked to all the patriots, above all, to Mustafa. It was placed under the responsibility of these my return home. I returned to the city with them, to the house of my father-in-law, the very honest Refat Mezin.

The latter also approved of this gesture, adding that he had been charged by Eqrem Vlora for this mission, but that he, knowing (stubbornness and stubbornness - are his words -) the groom had not yet decided to take any steps.
Isuf LUZAJ "Philosophy of Beauty", page 48.

My notes; Nuredin Vlora was the son of Ferit Pash Vlora Grand Vizier in the Ottoman Empire, cousin Eqrem Vlora, close friend of Baron Aloisi. Nuredin was part of the Central Committee of the "National Union" organization, the forerunner of the National Front. Also with Luzaj both in the anti-fascist uprising of the city of Fier in Albania.

He is a co-signer with Ali Këlcyra of the protocol of the ceasefire with General Dalmazzo. It was led by 1,700 Balli people who went to the rescue of Këlcyra when this was captured
and held hostage by the communists.

Professor Luzaj wrote in Cortona 1940 the statute of the Balli Kombetar Organization, together with Ali Kelcyra when they were in Cortona prison. It is interesting that his firm exists in both Democratic Organizations such as the National Front and the Social Democratic Party, and unfortunately his contribution is not recognized. I also think that you are interested in the memoirs of Syrja Vlora, the first Albanian ambassador to Vienna in 1915, and of his son Eqrem Vlora, former director of Raiuno, where a part of the memoirs of Eqrem Vlora was published by the Eastern European Institute in Germany 1973."
