In December 1993, the Commission tabled to the European Council in Brussels the White Paper on Growth, Competitiveness and Employment. The White Paper included a list of 26 transport projects considered to be of major European importance. In order to examine the Commission proposals, and to lead and coordinate the speedy and efficient implementation of trans-European networks in transport and energy, the Heads of States and Government established a group of their personal representatives chaired by Commission Vice President Mr Christophersen.
The Document, discussed at the Corfu European Council, represents the most current thinking of the Union on Trans-European Network, at the time.
