The President and the two Vice-Presidents are elected for a period of three years by the General Assembly. The President ensures legal representation of the Foundation, is the chairman of the Assembly and of the Executive Council and sanctions the expenditures of the Foundation. He receives the applications for membership of non-member organisations.

The Secretary General of the ESF is the director of the office of the Foundation and is appointed by the General Assembly on proposal of the Executive Council for five years. He reports to the Executive Council on the administration and the execution of the decisions of the statutory bodies of the Foundation.

This sub-fonds contains correspondence by the Presidents and the Secretary General and a collection of outgoing correspondence (onionskin copies) (1973, 1982 to 1985).
