Merger Task Force was a unit of the Directorate General for Competition. It's purpose was to examine notifications and prepare decisions according to Merger Regulation. It continued in this function until it began to be progressively disbanded in 2003. Lowe worked as Director of the Merger Task Force from 1993 until 1995.
