Material taken from the Commission of Foreign Economic Policy Records on the Randall Commission Hearings held in Paris, 9-12 Nov., includes
schedule of conferences held by the Commission in which Jean Monnet testified and transcript of Jean Monnet's testimony at the hearings. Stated that if the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) was successful, Europe would be able to participate in world trade at a higher level. Such co-operation between the member states, being as it was totally unprecedented, Jean Monnet refers to his hopes that his objective of a Common Market, a US of Europe could be reached. Speaks of European army, coal and steel trade discussions, productivity and competition, refers to cartels.
