The material present in this collection was collected by Jörg Friedrichs from British, German, French, Italian and international Archives.

This collection comprises documents from the 1960s and early 1970s collected as background to a book by Jörg Friedrichs on "Fighting Terrorism and Drugs: Europe and International Police Cooperation" (London and New York: Routledge, 2008). Jörg Friedrichs colllected these documents from British, German, French, Italian and international archives, which were then assembled together to form a collection which has been deposited in the HAEU.
In Friedrichs' book, the situation in the 1960s and 1970's is compared to the current situation. The analytical focus is on the policy preferences of the four largest and politically most important West European states: Britain, France, Germany and Italy.
