Abstract
Dr Gordon Adam was a member of the European Parliament delegation for relations with Russia, 1994, this coupled with his interest in energy matters particularly nuclear energy and its safety, ensured that he was kept up to date with the nuclear situation in the former communist bloc which was in a precarious position in the 1990's.
