Abstract
Sculpture, depicting the Greek myth of Europa, with script in Latin reading "Europa Perficienda" ("Europe to be improved").
This sculpture was created by artist Bernhard Vogler, who produced most of his iron and bronze works at the Buderus Kunstgießerei. Vogler chose this myth to express his desire for a united Europe. 1974 was a challenging year for the continent. The artist thus relaunches the idea of a fully united Europe, inspired by A. J. Toynbee and K. Jaspers's ideas, and the concrete actions of politicians, such as R. Schuman, W. Churchill, P. H. Spaak, and K. Adenauer.
