Context
Young European Federalists, French Jeunes Européens Fédéralistes (JEF) is a political youth organisation, first founded in the late 1940s. In the 1950s the first groups of young federalists appeared as a youths section of the Union of European Federalists (UEF).
The GFE Is the italian section of the JEF and represents the young group of the Movimento Federalista Europeo (MFE). The MFE was founded in Milan on 27-28 August 1943 by an anti-fascist group leaded by Altiero Spinelli, following the Ventotene Manifesto, drawn up in 1941 by Spinelli himself.
Content and Structure
The series is composed of dossiers relating to Federalist Movements and organisations, mainly JEF (Jeunes Européens Fédéralistes - Young European Federalists), MFE (Movimento Federalista Europeo), GFE (Gioventù Federalista Europea), UEF (Union of European Federalists), and collects documents that show the activities of federalist organisations, including the magazines published by them, collected mainly during the activism of Samuele Pii.
