Notes intended as a basis for a book by Michael Tracy on US agricultural policy to follow the 1st edition of his book, "Agriculture in Western Europe - Crisis and Adaptation since 1880 (Jonathan Cape, 1964). However with the publication in 1963 of Dale Hathaway's "Government and Agriculture: Public Policy in a Democratic Society", Macmillan, NY, 1963, Tracy dropped his project.
