Material regarding the general economic situation in France and the need for interim aid to tide her over till European Recovery Programme (ERP) funds were made available, includes, telegram from Paris Embassy to Secretary of State, John Foster Dulles, stating it was in interest of US to grant interim aid to prevent an extremist government coming into power in France, states that stabilisation programme of the Schuman Cabinet, French Premier, is in line with ERP objects and should recieve all practicable assistance.
