Heinz Zourek was from 1995 to 2001 Deputy Director-General at the DG Internal Market and was responsible for coordinating “free movement of goods and services, public procurement, regulated professions, industrial and intellectual property rights and postal services”, as well as in charge of infringement procedures and parliamentary affairs. He was appointed Deputy Director-General at the DG Enterprise and Industry in 2001 until becoming its Director-General in 2005.
