Karen Fogg, British diplomat, was, from 1970 to 1973, assistant secretary general of the International European Movement. She joined the European Commission in 1973, where she first worked on employment, social policy and education affairs. She then worked on development cooperation projects in central Africa and on food security issues. From 1990 onwards, she worked on the PHARE project and enlargement issues. From 1993 to 1998, she was Head of the European Commission Delegation in Bucharest, and from 1998 to 2002, Head of the EC Delegation in Ankara.
