Robin Teverson, Baron Teverson, studied at Exeter University. In 1994 he was elected member of the European Parliament for Cornwall and West Plymouth and he remained a MEP until July 1999. During this period, he was member and member of the Bureau of the Group of the European Liberal, Democrat and Reform Party; he was member of the Committee on Regional Policy, member of the Committee on Fisheries and member of the Delegation for relations with Russia.
On 1 June 2006, he was created a life peer as Baron Teverson, of Tregony in the County of Cornwall. During his time in the Lords, he has chaired both the House of Lords EU select sub-committee on External Affairs, and its ad-hoc select committee on the Arctic.
Teverson was elected to Cornwall Council for the new St Mewan ward in the 2009 election and he sat as the deputy leader of the Liberal Democrat group on Cornwall Council.
