Bárbara Dührkop Dührkop is a Spanish politician and member of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). She graduated in
Humanities at the University of Uppsala in 1971 and became a Language teacher in Hamburg in 1973. Between 1974 and1978 she was Deputy Chair of the Erlangen-Nürnberg University, between 1978 and 1987 she worked as a language teacher at the Usandizaga Institute and at the German School in San Sebastián, before becoming Chair of the Board of the German School.
She started her political career in 1987, when she was elected member of the European Parliament and she remained an MP until 2009.
